More than meets the eye!
Earlier this month, German metal fans attending this years Wacken Open Air festival were treated to a very special guest singer for Dio Disciples The man himself, the late great legend, Ronnie James Dio performed via hologram. I've been a massive Dio fan for as long as I've been a fan of the genre. I, for one, am grateful we got a Dio/Sabbath reunion in the form of Heaven and Hell before his untimely passing. Anyhow, check out the WOA footage below And as promised......... Thanks for stopping by, if you get a chance swing by and check out my friends at www.preparesurvive.weebly.com

Baton Rouge was a hair metal band formed in 1986 Lance Bulen, Keith Harrison, Harold Knappenberfer and Kelly Keeling. They formed in Louisiana and named the band after the state capitol. I live in the southern part of the country so I kind of took notice when the popped up on Headbangers Ball with Walks Like a Woman, a bluesy pop metal tune you can check out below, however this ain't the MTV version. I talk a lot about bands that are still around today, however this group wasn't a survivor. Lead Singer Kelly Keeling went on to work with Blue Murder, Carmine Appice, Lynch Mob, Michael Schenker and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Full Wikipedia article here Ok so this band technically isn't Metal, but hell I'm sure I first saw them on the Headbangers Ball! Drivin' and Cryin' is a southern rock band from Atlanta GA. They've been around since 1985 and are still at it today. The current line up consists of Kevn Kinney, Tim Nielson, Dave V. Johnson and Aaron Lee Tasjan. Past members included drummer Jeff Sullivan who had previously worked with an early incarnation of The Black Crowes called Mr. Crowes Garden. http://www.drivinncryin.com/ Check out the full wikipedia entry here And also check out the bands biggest hit Fly Me Courageous with a nice twist.... It truly looks like we are having an all Axl Rose summer. Not only has Guns and Roses set out on tour with original members Slash and Duff for the Not in This Lifetime tour, we also have this strange alternate universe where we find Mr. Rose as the front man for the iconic AC/DC. Unfortunately, long time vocalist Brian Johnson is unable to perform due to a hearing problem, so Angus Young reached out to Axl to cover for the Rock or Bust tour. Check it out Check this out from Metal Sludge...
